Ghostly Encounter Lands Psychic Helen Duncan in Jail
In the quest for proof of survival of death, Helen Duncan (1897 – 1956) provides magnificent evidence. She was a highly controversial medium who had the misfortune of being contacted by a deceased Royal Navy sailor during World War 2 in a sitting with his mother, when he told them his battleship had been sunk. He actually materialized strongly enough to Helen Duncanand his mother for them to read HMS BARHAM on his cap-band. At the time, Britain’s War Department was keeping top secret the demise of the battleship in November 1941 with the loss of 868 hands, so as to not damage morale. When the mother contacted the Navy for confirmation, the top brass were furious that she and Helen knew. However, they were in a bind because they couldn’t officially acknowledge Helen’s psychic powers, but they had to silence her somehow. So she was charged under the archaic 1735 Witchcraft Act, for specifically: “falsely claiming acts of witchcraft with the intent of defrauding ignorant persons.” The Old Bailey trial stole news headlines for weeks, and she was found guilty because of the incompetence of her attorney. A child could have shot holes in the prosecution’s case: (1) she was charged because she was too good a medium, but (2) she went to jail because was a fraud. Prime Minister Winston Churchill was so furious at the travesty of justice that in 1951, he struck the notorious Witchcraft Act from the books. Helen’s misfortune continued on her release. In Nottingham during 1956, while she was in a deep trance, a squad of police officers raided the sitting and pinned her down while they noisily ransacked the place. This is the worst possible thing you can do to a trance medium, and she died a few weeks later from a heart condition aggravated by the injuries she sustained during the raid. Mrs. Duncan was a brilliant medium who put thousands of “dead” people in touch with their surviving relatives, but her reputation was marred by a few well-publicized clumsy attempts at deceit on days when her powers were “off.” So the debunkers dismiss her 50 years of outstanding trance mediumship and with that, all her remarkable evidence of the survival of death. A group of stage magicians led by William Goldston, founder of the British Magicians Club, investigated HelenDuncan and were amazed when the deceased Great Lafayette materialized before their eyes. Goldston wrote tothe Psychic News stating "Helen Duncan's mediumship is genuine, and no magician could possibly duplicatethe phenomena that I and my fellow magicians have witnessed." You may be wondering what the sinking of a battleship in 1941 has to do with you. A lot, actually. This case involved top secret wartime information that the medium could not have possibly known through normal channels. The sinking of the HMS Barham was top secret, and no details had been released to the mediaSo there is only one possibility – the Royal Navy sailor survived death in a fully functioning capacity, i.e., he wasn’t consigned to playing harps on clouds somewhere. Is it possible that the sailor is unique, and that he is the only humanwho has survived death? Of course not. I’ve edited dozens of books channeled by those on the other side, and read hundreds more. So what happened for them is exactly what will happen for you when your time comes. You will survive after leaving your body, and will be able to interact with those still on the physical plane if you so choose. Clearly, this incident involving Helen Duncan gives us clear proof of survival of death.
